An Oasis is "a place between." It is a place of rest. It is a place of growth. It is a place of life in the middle of a desert. Oasis is also the Network's online gathering. It is a place between where we are now, and where God is leading us. It is a place of refreshment, renewal, learning and connection. Members of the Network are invited to come together for an online gathering. Together, we will renew, learn and connect.

Topic: "Walking Together in Truth: Indigenous Justice, the ELCA, and MMIW"

This webinar will explore the historical relationship between Indigenous peoples and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), highlighting the impact of missionization, boarding schools, and systemic erasure. We will examine the church’s past involvement, its commitments to truth and healing, and the ongoing work needed for accountability. Additionally, we will connect this history to the present-day crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), discussing how faith communities can take meaningful action in addressing this injustice. The session will include historical context, personal narratives, and a discussion on pathways toward justice and reconciliation.
